Procédé consistant à reporter une «puce» nue, c'est-à-dire sans boîtier de protection, sur un circuit imprimé, à la connecter par des fils à ce circuit puis à la recouvrir d'une pastille de résine destinée à la protéger.

CONT

Le pastillage permet de miniaturiser les circuits électroniques, car, dans une puce, c'est le boîtier qui occupe le plus de place. Et, comme il supprime un niveau d'assemblage (le montage du boîtier), le risque de détériorer la puce au cours de manipulations successives est diminué. Le pastillage est encore assez peu répandu, les fabricants de montres «pager», en Suisse notamment, ayant été parmi les premiers à l'adopter.
